Fate and Fortune

"Fate and Fortune" by Julia Sherman

| Facebook | Twitter | June 6, 2014 was a beautiful sunny day until two gunmen, wearing black masks, ran into a local coffee shop in the middle of the day and took people hostage. As the police burst through the door, the two men killed each other but not before they began shooting people one by one. The shooters thought that they were possessed by the Devil, and the Devil was ordering them to carry out his plan.  Two years later, after the news of the shooting became a distant memory for most, four survivors from four different walks of life suddenly meet the same lady, who starts to impact their lives in unexpected and mysterious ways. But, just as they set out to discover who she really is, and what it is that she wants from them; they find themselves stuck in a life-and-death struggle as the mystery unfolds, and suddenly nothing seems sure anymore.

Billette Hall

"Billette Hall" by  D.L. Jones

1858, A Slave auction goes wrong leaving a group of slaves displaced and traveling alone to Billette Hall. Led by a 15 yr old slave girl, they have to survive a 4 day trek in the woods, while unknowingly hunted by an axe wielding murderer. About Author: A few years ago I got into writing screenplays for fun. I've completed and submitted one to the Nichols Fellowship screenplay competition, posted a few on websites and twitter etc. Billette Hall was one of the ones I was working on, I am now converting/fleshing out that screenplay to my new horror novel. When I first started Billette Hall my thoughts were "why arent there any stories that take place during slavery times that isn’t actually about slavery?" Yea it takes place in slavery time, and that is the backdrop but the story can just be a story that happens during that time and not directly related to slavery.
